FAUCETT, Mo. (AP) - A second arrest has been made in connection with the death of a woman whose remains were found last year inside a duffel bag in northwestern Missouri. The Kansas City Star reports that Marcus Brooks was arrested Sunday.
Brooks' arrest followed the Buchanan County Sheriff's office announcement earlier Sunday that 22-year-old Taylor Stoughton has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Ariel Starcher.
A Missouri Transportation Department worker found the bag with Starcher's body inside it on Feb. 18, 2020 alongside a road in Faucett, north of Kansas City.
Investigators say Stoughton has told them that she and Brooks asphyxiated Starcher on Feb. 5, 2020, at a Kansas City hotel.
